Seeds
After the Election

Mid Fall,
Tough time for seeds.
The flowers have faded,
fallen—
Bees asleep in the cold.
Fruits have been picked,
are down, half rotting,
becoming earth again.
Seeds, battered, excreted
slowly sink to the depths.
Though the poles of the world
are frozen, fire radiates
from the earth-heart,
certainizing germination
in what has been buried.
Seeds won’t give up eternity.
